LEGAL · CERTIFICATION MARK
The mark carries only the authority of the current credential.
These rules govern public use of PV certification references, tier language, marks, seals, and registry links.
Authorized use only
The PV certification mark may be used only in connection with a currently valid credential and only for the specifically identified asset or gemstone and tier shown in the registry.
No scope expansion
A credential covering an identified gemstone does not automatically certify the entire jewelry item, seller, manufacturer, title, value, or other components. Marketing must preserve the credential scope.
Tier accuracy
Users must state the exact current tier and may not describe T1 or T2 as verified provenance. T3 is the first tier permitted to state verified provenance. Only T4 may use PV Gold Seal / complete provenance language within the credential scope.
Registry link
Digital use should link or resolve to the current PV/VERITAN registry record so viewers can inspect status, evidence coverage, limitations, and supersession or revocation.
No modification
Certification artwork, wording, tier designation, seals, QR/resolver references, and credential identifiers may not be altered in a way that changes meaning, obscures limitations, or implies broader authority.
Revoked or superseded credentials
Authorization to present a credential as current ends when the registry marks it revoked, expired, or superseded. Historical references must clearly identify the historical state.
Marketplace listings
Listings must not use the certification mark to imply a broader condition, value, title, responsible-sourcing, sanctions, government, or laboratory claim than the current credential actually supports.
Enforcement
VERITAN may require correction or removal of unauthorized certification-mark use and may suspend credentials, accounts, or access for material misuse, fraud, or continued misrepresentation.
