LEGAL · CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
Charge for work performed. Correct errors explicitly.
Effective August 25, 2026. Public policy for certification fees, developer subscriptions, usage, and enterprise agreements.
PV T1
T1 Asset Fingerprint is free and has no certification fee to refund. Registry/custody records may remain where retention is required even if the customer later stops using the service.
PV T2 / T3 / T4 before review
If a paid certification is cancelled before substantive evidence review begins, the certification fee is eligible for a full refund to the original payment method, subject to payment-provider and legal constraints.
PV T2 / T3 / T4 after review begins
Once substantive review begins, VERITAN may retain up to 50% of the certification fee for work performed and refund the remainder. If a separate quoted review scope was accepted, that quote controls.
After credential issuance
Certification fees are generally non-refundable after a credential is issued because the review service has been completed. This does not limit correction, supersession, revocation, legal remedies, or refunds required by law or approved because of a VERITAN processing error.
Evidence does not support requested tier
A lower tier, evidence request, hold, or decline is not automatically a refund event because payment purchases the review service rather than a guaranteed tier outcome. Any unused or unperformed portion may be handled under the applicable certification terms or approved customer resolution.
Developer subscriptions
A self-service recurring developer subscription may be cancelled to stop renewal. Unless required by law or stated otherwise in a signed agreement, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and does not create a prorated refund for an already-started billing period.
Usage charges
Valid metered usage already consumed is not refundable merely because access is later cancelled. Duplicate, erroneous, or disputed usage is subject to reconciliation and correction rather than silent balance rewriting.
Enterprise
Enterprise cancellation, termination charges, credits, pilot fees, minimum commitments, prepaid amounts, and refunds are governed by the signed Order Form, SOW, MSA, or rate schedule.
Payment disputes and chargebacks
A chargeback or dispute may suspend affected service or certification state while investigated. A dispute does not erase the underlying audit, custody, billing, or evidence record.
How to request
Authenticated customers should use their Console/customer record so the request is tied to the correct organization, certification, contract, or payment. Enterprise customers should use the contract support contact.
