LEGAL · PV CERTIFICATION

Evidence determines the statement.

Effective August 25, 2026. These terms govern submission, review, issuance, correction, supersession, and revocation of PV credentials.

Eligibility and authority
A submitter must be the asset owner, authorized custodian, authorized business representative, or other party with lawful authority to submit the asset and evidence. VERITAN may request business identity, beneficial-owner, authorized-representative, or custody information where appropriate.
Evidence declaration
The submitter must provide complete and accurate evidence to the best of its knowledge and disclose known or suspected treatment, synthetic or laboratory-grown status, material source limitations, prior contradictory records, sanctions concerns, and other facts that could materially change the certification outcome.
Tier outcome
Payment purchases the review service and does not guarantee T2, T3, or T4. T1 is an asset fingerprint. T2 records declared source. T3 is the first tier permitted to state verified provenance. T4 is the PV Gold Seal for complete provenance within the protocol scope.
Current price book
Current public list pricing is T1 Free, T2 $50, T3 $150, and T4 $350 per asset certification. Volume or enterprise pricing must be documented in the current VERITAN price book or a signed rate card.
Review and correction
VERITAN may request additional evidence, place a submission on hold, issue a lower tier than requested, decline issuance, correct a record, supersede a credential, or revoke a credential when evidence, security, legal, fraud, identity, or protocol conditions require it.
Registry publication
Issued credentials may be represented through the public registry with current status, tier, scope, evidence coverage, limitations, issuer/reviewer information, signature status, and supersession or revocation state. Current registry state controls over stale copies.
Certification scope
A PV credential applies only to the specifically identified asset or gemstone and the claims stated in the credential. It does not automatically certify the entire jewelry item, title, market value, future condition, investment quality, or facts outside the evidence reviewed.
Third-party evidence
Laboratory reports, Kimberley Process records, responsible-sourcing certifications, invoices, shipping documents, government records, and other evidence remain attributable to their original issuers. PV assesses the evidentiary status of provenance claims; it does not become the issuer of third-party evidence.
Sanctions and lawful trade
The submitter must not knowingly use PV services to conceal sanctioned, prohibited, stolen, fraudulently described, or unlawfully traded assets. VERITAN may suspend or reject a submission where legal or sanctions risk cannot be resolved.
Cancellation and re-review
Before substantive review begins, cancellation may be accepted without a certification outcome. Once substantive review begins, VERITAN may retain a reasonable portion of the service fee for work performed. Re-review, correction, or expanded evidence review may carry a separate published or quoted fee.
No guarantee or appraisal
A PV credential is an evidence-governed certification statement, not a guarantee, appraisal, investment recommendation, insurance valuation, legal title opinion, or promise that no undisclosed facts exist.
Lifecycle and retention
Audit, evidence, custody, certification, correction, supersession, revocation, billing, and security records may be retained where necessary for chain of custody, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, or dispute resolution.
